Matthias Steyrer studied Law in Vienna and London (King’s College London) and Business Administration in Vienna.

He began his legal career in 2001 at a leading Vienna-based commercial law firm, where he practised as an attorney and was appointed partner until 2007. He subsequently held senior executive positions as Secretary General and Head of Legal at national and international financial institutions. Since returning to private practice, he has been advising clients as an independent attorney and has been a member of the Weinrauch Attorneys at Law team since 2021.

Drawing on his extensive experience in both private practice and the financial services sector, complemented by an MBA, Matthias Steyrer is particularly recognised for his pragmatic and business-oriented approach to advising domestic and international clients.

His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and construction law, tenancy and residential law, banking and finance, and compliance.
Matthias Steyrer advises Austrian and international companies, investors, and financial institutions on M&A transactions, financing transactions, and real estate acquisitions. He also has particular expertise in compliance and banking regulatory law.
