Gerald Niesner studied law in Graz. In 2002 he worked as a consultant for PWC PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and in 2003 he became associate at Graf & Pitkowitz Rechtsanwälte GmbH, Dr. Alexander Isola, where he worked as a lawyer in the Insolvency and Restructuring Law Practice Area from 2007. He is a member of the Styrian Bar Association, registered in the list of insolvency administrators and also serves as a supervisory board member.

Gerald Niesner works both as an insolvency administrator and as a debtor and creditor representative in various insolvencies and regularly publishes specialist articles.

His working languages are German and English.
